Rainbows, What a Sight! What a Promise From God!

Rainbow in teh Clouds

Rainbow in the Clouds

What a wonderful and beautiful sight they are. What a wonderful promise they represent.

When God showed Noah the first rainbow, He said it would be His sign of a promise. We can see a rainbow and be reminded of His faithfulness. He promised that fall, winter, spring and summer would come and go as long as the earth remains. And we know that they have and will continue in His control.

Then Noah built an altar to the LORD and took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And when the LORD smelled the pleasing aroma, the LORD said in his heart, “I will never again curse  the ground because of man, for the intention of man’s heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done. While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.” Genesis 8:20-22 ESV

Blessings From God – Pecan Trees and Pecans!

South Georgia Pecan Orchard

South Georgia Pecan Orchard

In these Dog Days of Summer in south Georgia, it’s refreshing to see the shade of a pecan orchard. Can you feel the soft breeze that was blowing through that day?

Pecan trees (pronounce it however you want) are another of God’s multiple blessings. The shade and beauty are evident in the photo. And the tasty fruit is ripening, on its way later in the year.

The multiple blessings brought to mind the fruit of the Spirit. God grants us His love in so many ways.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 ESV

The English Garden Look - Getting Closer

The English Garden Look – Getting Closer

Sharon and I like to watch the English mystery TV shows (Poirot, Miss Marple, Inspector Lewis, etc.) During those I often notice the flower gardens. They’re so full with so many different plants. Something to see wherever your eye turns. I’ve been working toward something like that, and this year it is getting closer. Perhaps, some day.

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalms 16:11 ESV

Phlox By the Fence

Phlox By the Fence

One of my favorite plants. It has one of the brightest, whitest flowers. I haven’t had success with the red ones, though. Not sure what the difference is.

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.” Psalms 51:7 ESV

What a wonderful thought – washed clean by the blood of Jesus.
