Stella D'Oro Daylily

Stella D’Oro Daylily

Great is Thy Faithfulness – “As Thou has been, Thou forever will be.”

The Stella D’Oro keeps blooming for much of the spring and summer. The continuous blooms are an excellent picture of God’s faithfulness. Some human (or group of humans) worked with this variety to improve their re-blooming ability to this point. But it’s God’s strength and power (and faithfulness) that causes them to grow at all.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 ESV

Zinnia in the Carport

Zinnia in the Carport

Great is Thy Faithfulness – “Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow”

Here’s another “bloom where you’re planted” example. Or a “keep trying with all your strength and break through!” The Zinnia sprouted in the crack in the concrete between the carport and the ramp. It did find a spot that allowed us to miss it when going in and out.

The LORD is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.” Psalms 28:7 ESV

Container on Steps

Container on Steps

Great is Thy Faithfulness – “There is no shadow of turning with Thee”

Today’s post doesn’t have many blooms either, but you shoulda’ seen it when the geranium was full and there were a million bells. Perhaps we could copy and paste the blooms that are there and cover it up?

Sharon worked at the flower shop for a prom (she’s the corsage wizard) and took two of these as payment. We had this one  on the steps in an alcove, so it didn’t have too much blazing sun exposure and flourished as you see. The other one did get sunburned and ended up about half this size, but it was also beautiful.

Thanks to Sharon for her work and gift – and thank the Lord for more than I can say about that.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” James 1:17 ESV

The English Garden Look - Getting Closer

The English Garden Look – Getting Closer

Sharon and I like to watch the English mystery TV shows (Poirot, Miss Marple, Inspector Lewis, etc.) During those I often notice the flower gardens. They’re so full with so many different plants. Something to see wherever your eye turns. I’ve been working toward something like that, and this year it is getting closer. Perhaps, some day.

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalms 16:11 ESV
