I’ve missed a bit on the blog posts the last couple of weeks, but thought I would show a few blooms from the backyard. At the moment it has been dry and the last few days were super “wet” – not from rain but from humidity.
“And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow ; they toil not, neither do they spin : And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.” Matthew 6:28-29 KJV
Lovely flowers. In the West we have devil’s club…flower not included. It is nasty with thorns and grows in the woods primarily in the NW.
Thanks and Yikes! I’ll take the blooms!
Lovely blooms, Bill. I’m sure you folks are enjoying such beauty. I didn’t make a garden this summer or even fuss with my perennials, but they’re trying their best anyway — the reward of past labors. And I’m enjoying the wild sunflowers that spring up unbidden.
As to the verse you shared, that’s a tough one to put in practice, isn’t it? My clothes don’t spring from the soil ready-made; I have to work at getting them. Even my perennials could use a little thought (in the form of weeding & fertilizer.) Yet this verse is a humbling reminder that when we think we’ve done such a good job at making ourselves attractive, we still don’t hold a candle to the wildflowers.
Thanks, Christine. I had my cycle of not doing much with them last year so there was much work to do this year. But, it’s been a good year. We definitely need more rain.
And, yes, God’s creation is always amazing.
