God’s Faithfulness – Springtime is Here!

Dogwood, Cardinal and Springtime

Dogwood, Cardinal and Springtime

Some of our Winter days were more like Spring than the days since Spring began last week – it’s been wet and a bit cool (though, nowhere near as cold as some of you were). But, there are definitely signs of the change  in seasons – with trees and azaleas blooming everywhere. God’s faithfulness continues (Great is Thy Faithfulness!).

Sharon pointed this shot out to me – the dogwood blooms, bird feeder, fence and pump house.  “And wouldn’t it be great to get a cardinal in it!”.  So, when I went outside to take the shot,  the cardinal and the Lord blessed it.

It made me think of how the Lord blesses us even when we’re not expecting it. All the little (and big) surprises He gives us  if we just pay attention. What a wonderful God we have!

O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people. For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.” Psalms 117 KJV

Blessings from God – Birds

I thought I would try something new this year – Take pictures of birds and then figure out what kind they are. I know many of the species that live here but still hope to get some good pictures of them. And also get some that I don’t recognize – like this one. I could just say that’s a sparrow, since there are many different kinds of them. But, I don’t know. Can anyone identify it?

It’s good to try some new things now and then (although I do love being in some ruts). What comes to mind is the Bible telling us, in several places, to learn and sing a new song to the Lord. Always good to find new ways to praise Him. And I guess I can find out what the bird songs are and know to praise Him like they do.

Oh sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth!” Psalms 96:1 ESV

Volunteer Sunflowers From the Birds

Sunflower and Butterfly Bush

Volunteer Sunflower in Butterfly Bush

We have several bird feeders in the backyard. One of the seeds we provide them is sunflowers.

Then they give the blessing back by dropping seeds all around the flower beds where the volunteer sunflowers bloom.
